Transit log renewal: when, how and what it costs

Under the regulation a transit log is valid until the end of each voyage, and for foreign flagged boats wintering at a certified sea tourism facility it stays valid throughout the winter. In practice, the transit log of a foreign flagged yacht that stays in Türkiye is renewed once a year.

When is it renewed?

Before it runs out and before the boat sets off on a new voyage. We can keep track of the dates for you and remind you before the season starts.

Who fills it in, and do I need to be there?

The owner, the operator, the captain or a ship agent acting for them completes and signs it, correctly and in full. Because an agent can act for you, you may not need to be at the boat for the renewal; we tell you beforehand how to authorise us.

What does it cost in 2026?

Two items: a charge by boat length and a fixed document fee. For a 12 metre foreign flagged yacht, for example, the 2026 charge is 3,081.60 TL and the document fee 70 EUR. Turkish flagged yachts pay one third of the charge and a document fee of 900 TL. Fractions of a metre are not counted.

Does a renewal extend the stay?

No, they are separate matters. A foreign flagged boat can stay up to five years in a certified marina, and for private yachts the Ministry can extend that by five more. Renewing the transit log does not change this period.
